1. Eye Protection
One of the most important accessories for any electric scooter owner is proper and durable eye protection.
In some instances, this could be as simple as a sturdy pair of sunglasses, which can wrap around the side of your face and sit securely at the back of your head. Just something as simple as a fly smashing into your eye could cause a serious accident and even cause you to lose your life, so eyewear is essential.
2. Helmet
You should never consider riding any kind of motorbike, bicycle, or electric scooter, even at a slow speed for a short distance, without wearing your helmet, as this is a piece of safety equipment that could mean the difference from injury to death.
At the minimum, you should look at investing in a helmet which has been repeatedly CPSC-certified for slower bikes and scooters, and for those travelling more than twenty miles per hour, you must buy a DOT-certified motorbike helmet.

Even if there are often occasions when you have no need to use your phone for satellite navigation, or indeed anything else, and you are not embarking upon a long enough journey for you to need refreshments, attaching a phone and drinks holder is a fantastic addition to your scooter.
What is more, if you invest in an, admittedly more expensive, but incredibly useful motorcycle helmet, you will be able to control your phone and play music with buttons within the helmet itself. This makes for a much more enjoyable experience.
4. Riding Gloves
Even if you are fortunate enough to own one of the new piaggio electric scooters, which have advanced grips on the handlebars and handles built for support and comfort, in the cooler winter months, a pair of high-quality riding gloves are still an absolute must.
You need to ensure that the gloves you purchase are a snug fit, but not so tight that they start to impede hand, wrist, and finger movement, and that the material is thick enough to protect your hands from the biting cold.
5. An Insta 360 Camera
Finally, for a real piece of high-tech kit for your electric scooter, the must-have gadget for 2023 and onwards is the impressive and relatively affordable Insta 360 camera.
If you are a keen vlogger, then there would be nothing better than affixing such a camera to the front of your scooter and recording your journey and any tricks you do (the latter obviously in a safe and legal location).
